Preparing an insurance claim
Keep the policy, box references and evidence together, then follow the actual insurer’s process.
Identify the correct policy
Locate the insurer, policy or certificate number, insured person and shipment references. Check the wording for the required notification route and deadlines rather than assuming a general website guide controls the claim.
Preserve the evidence
Keep the contents list, available receipts, photographs, packaging, collection record and delivery acknowledgment. Describe what happened and when it was discovered. Avoid disposing of the packaging before the responsible party has explained whether it needs inspection.
Keep separate case numbers
An insurer claim and a complaint to a shipping provider may proceed separately. Record each reference and ask who needs to be notified. TulayBox is not currently administering claims under a cargo policy.
