Box delivery planning for Metro Manila

Recipient-address details, coverage questions and handover preparation for a balikbayan box going to Metro Manila.

Get the address right

Use the correct city, barangay, street and building or unit number. For a condominium, tell the operator whether deliveries are accepted at reception, a loading bay or the unit. An address labelled only “Manila” can be ambiguous when the recipient lives in another city in Metro Manila.

Ask the recipient to confirm the building’s delivery rules and a reachable phone number. If they work away from home, agree whether an authorised person can receive the shipment.

Ask what the quote includes

Request written confirmation that the final address is covered. If an onward transfer, depot handover or additional charge applies, it should be identified before the sender accepts the service. A regional price heading should not conceal a different endpoint.

Prepare the recipient

Keep the recipient informed using confirmed shipment updates. Ask them to keep their telephone number active and to tell the operator if access or availability changes. Avoid sharing tracking links publicly if they reveal names, addresses or private shipment records.

Record the final handover

Keep the delivery acknowledgment and box reference. If a box is visibly damaged, photograph its condition and describe what you can see rather than guessing the cause. Preserve the packaging and report missing or damaged contents through the responsible operator’s process.
