Prepare the customs paperwork
Accurate descriptions and a clear filing process help the people responsible for the shipment do their job.
Build the source record
Keep a separate inventory for every box, with item descriptions, quantities and value information. Save available purchase evidence and photographs. Update the list whenever the contents change.
Confirm who does what
Ask the operator who prepares export paperwork, who handles import processing and which records you must supply. Review your information before it is submitted. A transport provider’s document request should explain the purpose and the private channel to use.
Use current official guidance
Check the Philippine Bureau of Customs requirements for your circumstances. A general description of a balikbayan service does not decide eligibility for relief or allow restricted goods. Keep requests for clarification and any resulting correction with the shipment record.
